Description

After Midnight is a long necklace built around contrast, rhythm, and quiet balance.

Black tourmaline chips and polished black agate establish a restrained geometric rhythm, punctuated by baroque pearls in varying shapes and sizes. Toward the base of the piece, rough-cut amethyst introduces a subtle shift in tone — a quiet trace of violet emerging within an otherwise monochromatic composition.

Designed to be worn either as a long necklace or wrapped twice around the neck, the piece offers two distinct silhouettes while maintaining its layered, architectural character.

Like the city after midnight, familiar forms begin to feel slightly transformed. Lights fade, streets grow quieter, and overlooked details become more apparent. Through the contrast of structured lines, organic pearls, and irregular stones, After Midnight captures that quiet atmosphere between stillness and movement.

The baroque pearls used in this piece are individually selected for their exceptional luster and luminous overtones.

The mini baroque freshwater pearls are carefully selected for their luster, shape, and overall quality. Due to their small size, drilling and matching these pearls requires exceptional precision, making high-quality mini baroque pearls increasingly difficult to source.

Because each pearl is naturally formed, no two are exactly alike. Variations in shape, color, surface texture, and occasional natural growth features are part of the unique character of genuine freshwater pearls.
Hardware: brass (available in silver-tone or gold-tone finish)

To help reduce friction during wear, discreet transparent silicone spacers are placed between selected stones. They are intentionally subtle and form part of the construction of the piece.

Every LUMEFIA piece is individually handmade in Tokyo.

We work with natural pearls, stones, shell, glass, and other materials whose color, shape, texture, and inclusions may vary from piece to piece.
